Concert at Sutton House, 15th Dec 2013

The Sutton House Music Society has invited the Wing-It Singers to perform a Festive Concert on Sunday 15th December 2013 at 6pm.

We will present a mouth-watering programme of English yuletide wassails, and festive songs from Georgia, the Balkans, Spain and France.

We are happy to be performing for the first time in a local Hackney “jewel”, the wonderful sixteenth-century National Trust property, Sutton House, which will be decorated for the occasion.

There will be complementary mince pies and the cafe/bar will be selling mulled wine and other drinks.

Early booking is advised, as the concert is expected to sell out.

Festive singing at St Mary’s Old Church, 17th Dec 2013

St Mary’s Old Church, Stoke Newington

To round off the year, the Wing-It Singers will once more be singing in the beautiful surroundings of St Mary’s Old Church (currently celebrating its 450th year!).

Hackney’s fantastic acappella choir will be singing traditional wassails and songs from Georgia, the Balkans, Spain and France to fill this ancient and atmospheric space.

Festive nibbles and a bar.

Hawks, Lovers and Lullabies, 1st October

The Wing-It Singers will be performing at the Vibe Gallery on Tuesday 1st October 2013, as part of the Bermondsey Arts Festival.

Tickets are £6 – you can either get them in advance from the Vibe Gallery, or pay on the door. The concert starts at 8pm. Nearest tube: Bermondsey; plenty parking too.

Free lunchtime concert, 6th July

The Wing-It Singers will be joining another choir, Hackney Voices, on Saturday 6th July 2013.

As part of the St John at Hackney church fête, we will be performing at a free lunchtime concert from 1-2pm. Expect some exhilarating harmonies as we sing a cappella songs from Georgia, Spain, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, the African continent… and England!

South of the river on Saturday!

Chumleigh Gardens

The Wing-It Singers will be venturing South Of The River (eek!) next Saturday 8^th June.

We will be doing two performances of mostly crunchy Eastern European harmonies to complement / compete with the tranquillity of Chumleigh Gardens, in Burgess Park. It’s all part of Open Garden Squares Weekend (and also linked to the Chelsea Fringe.)

As far as we know, we will be singing at 12.45 and and 13.45. And it looks like the weather will be fine. So dig out your sunglasses, come and listen!

It’s free, and pretty informal – you can wander in and out as you feel like it, and enjoy the gardens.

We will be singing at the Christmas market on the South Bank, outside the Royal Festival Hall, on Friday 30th November 2012. At either 18.40 or 19.20.
