Some Spring & Summer Singing

On Saturday 17 May at around 3pm we’ll be serenading trees and tree-lovers as part of the Tree Musketeers’ Open Day at Hackney Community Tree Nursery. The Open Day runs from 11am to 4pm; there is a variety of activities going on throughout the day, and it’s a lovely place to spend some time.

(Here we are at the Tree Nursery a few years ago.)

Singing at the Tree Nursery in 2022

Then on Saturday 21 June we are singing at the Highgate Festival in Pond Square, from 4 til 5pm. Further details on the Highgate Festival Website.

Voices That Wander poster

We were privileged to participate in Voices That Wander – a choral project curated by Lydia Samuels and supported by Arts Council England celebrating interconnected Jewish and Arabic music of the Middle East and North Africa, singing songs in both Ladino and Arabic.

In two concerts held in July and October 2024 we performed new arrangements of traditional Ladino songs by Sally Davies, and brand new choral compositions by composer Lydia Samuels. We were joined by amazing guest soloists including, once again Saied Silbak and Ana Silvera.

Trip to Brittany

In May 2023 a group of Wing-It Singers visited Brittany on the return leg of our ‘choir exchange’ with the Choeur de Haute Vilaine

We had a wonderful time being looked after by very lovely French hosts, and we sang together in the church of Noyal-sur-Vilaine, near Rennes.

Here are some photos from our trip.
